There may be opportunities later in the training year to be trained in, and be certified for, flying drones.
A Transport Canada exam is required for either Basic (age 14+) and Advanced operations (age 16+).
Ground school material and a gap (drone-specific) package will be useful in attempting the exam.
The exams are known to be challenging and have a pass score of 65% for Basic and 80% for Advanced operations.
Attend the ground school to gain the background knowledge before continuing onto the gap package and flight training.
Flight review opportunities, for granting Advanced operations pilot certificate, may be provided to those who passed the Advanced operations exam.
